Multimedia for the Good Guys

A still image from a audio slideshow produced for the Hispanic Health Council (Hartford, CT) about their highly successful breastfeeding program. Hispanic women have one of the lowest breastfeeding rates in the US, a reality that this program helped to turn around through education and support throughout the first year of a baby's life.

The Center for Contemporary Culture will present an evening of documentary shorts by Shana Sureck at the Hartford Public Library on May 17th at 5:30.  The documentaries, exploring the work and lives of internationally reknowned fabric artist Ed Johnetta Miller and dancer Nandi Dixon Smith, founder of Sankofa Kuumba Cultural Arts Consortium, are funded by an Arts & Heritage grant from the City of Hartford.
